Hide description
Wildly Organic Native Pecans are not grown in rows on a pecan farm, but instead, have existed for generations in the wild. Native pecans are smaller than the other variety we carry - Texas Pecans. They are tender and naturally buttery. The pecans are activated through a low-temperature soaking and dehydrating process which unlocks their full nutrition potential and enhances their delicate texture making them a delicious healthy snack.

Scientific evidence suggests but does not prove that eating 1.5 ounces per day of most nuts such as pecans as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart disease. See nutrition information for fat content.

What are the Benefits of Soaking and Dehydrating Nuts?

Sally Fallon and the Weston A. Price Foundation suggests that nuts be soaked and then dehydrated at low temperatures—here's why:

Phytic acid occurs naturally in nuts, and it protects them until they're ready for germination. Unfortunately, phytic acid binds to certain minerals and transforms into a phytate, which inhibits your body's ability to absorb some of the nut's nutrients.

After several cycles of soaking and rinsing and allowing the nuts a little bit of air, germination will occur. This starts to break down the enzyme inhibitors as the nuts release their protective shield and unlock stored nutrients to prepare for growth. This process creates what some refer to as "activated nuts."

Once the soaking process is complete, we dehydrate the nuts slowly at a very low temperature to extend the shelf life and give them a delicate crunch. The low-heat method will preserve the nutrients and ensure that the pecans remain entirely raw.

Native pecans

They are wonderful and sweet... mostly. But they always have several really rancid or sour ones amid the sweet ones. Sigh.

Mix of great and not-so-much

Don't think I will order the native pecans anymore. The quality has been inconsistent. Some sour/rancid nuts amid the good ones. This has been going on for a long time. The other pecans are better.

The Best Pecans

Truly the Best Pecans. They are crunchy, yet buttery at the bite. The quality and freshness does not compare with any other similar product in the market. I made a pecan cake with my purchase of this pecans and it came out much better than the ones I did before. Will continue using . Thank you!
