Cacao Butter | Organic | Raw
The first thing you’ll notice about our organic cacao butter is its deep rich chocolate aroma. The butter is a light beige color, unrefined, Fairtrade certified, and absolutely delicious. This is exactly the butter you need for melt-in-the-mouth treats and snacks.
Unlike Anything You’ve Ever Tasted
Our raw, certified organic butter differs from standard offerings on the market. Cacao butter is a product of the cacao plant (Theobroma cacao). We separate the fresh cacao beans from the pod and air dry them at low temperatures. The beans are then passed through a roller to break their outer membranes before being ground and pressed to remove the oil. Once the oil is pressed out of the cacao nibs, the "butter" is extracted, separating it from the fibrous powder. This process doesn’t involve any fermentation or even heat application (typically a part of the process of butter extraction), the resulting raw cacao butter and cacao powder are not bitter. Our butter is also free from exposure to chemicals. We think you’ll taste and appreciate the difference that comes from this approach!
A Versatile and Unique Treat
Our butter is sold in a 1lb or 8oz block. The packaging stacks up well on your shelf and it’s easy to chip off the amount you need for your recipe. It has that delicious chocolatey flavor and aroma to it that you know and love. It works wonderfully in desserts, giving them that melt-in-the-mouth sensation.
Adding a piece of organic cacao butter will increase the richness of any baked good, chocolate treat, dessert, or ice cream. It melts easily (at approximately 90°F) and blends in nicely into any recipe you have in mind. It works equally well with a dehydrator and a double boiler. You can use it to make a multitude of mouth-watering preparations, including white, milk, or dark chocolate, healthy snacks, milkshakes, or even as coffee creamer (check out our recipe for a dairy-free white chocolate coffee creamer). Cacao butter also makes a wonderful treat for your skin.
Storage advice: Store in a cool, dry place. Our product offers you sustained stability and a long shelf life.
