Hide description
Wildly Organic small coconut flakes are about the size of white rice. Many people find these will still work for macaroons, coatings, and cookies (like a fine flake) and they also can be used in place of the large shreds. They are in-between those two flakes in size and can work in most recipes, especially if you want a more substantial coconut texture and flavor, but do not want too much chewiness.

We worked for months to develop a natural, dried coconut that we could still call "raw." We are excited to finally offer a low-temperature dehydrated coconut with a great taste.

We start with wild coconuts. The coconut is removed from the shells and washed in pure, filtered water (no chlorine is present). The coconut is then shredded and slowly dehydrated at 98.6°F (37°C). The result is shredded, raw coconut that tastes great, has a wonderful texture, and contains the nutrients found in coconut.

Most shredded, dried coconut available online and in health food stores is actually desiccated coconut. Chlorinated water is used to clean and sterilize the coconuts once they are opened and peeled. The coconut meat is grated, often lightly pressed to remove some of the milk (moisture) and then it is dried in huge ovens at temperatures between 170°-180°F (76°-82°C). Coconut sold in grocery stores is made from this desiccated coconut by soaking it in corn syrup, propylene glycol, and sodium metabisulfite to preserve it. There is a huge difference between raw dehydrated coconut and most store-bought sweetened coconut flakes.

Our raw coconut flakes are great in trail mixes, numerous raw desserts, cookies, or great to snack all by themselves.

We offer raw, unsweetened dehydrated coconut in fine and small as well as coconut chips.

The best ever!!!

I am a true coconut lover so I use and go through a ton of coconut. I recently just started to make my own coconut milk and someone mentioned about buying shredded coconut in bulk. I never thought of that before and just always got it at a health food store or Meijer (our big grocery store.) I ended up doing some research and through Facebook, I found Wildly Organic. I originally was after the fine shredded but that was out of stock and then I came across the small shredded. I read the description and saw it was about the size of rice and decided that was what I need anyway. I ordered 25#'s. It arrived very quickly and in a well packaged and sealed bag inside a box. Not a single piece of coconut anywhere in the box. I was very impressed upon opening the box that I could smell pure coconut already. I opened the bag and it was 25#'s of pure white shredded coconut. I mean, white coconut. The taste is absolutely amazing. This by far is the best coconut I've ever had and I will continue to buy coconut from here from now on. Amazing! Buy it now, you won't be disappointed!

Best quality coconut flakes

I have ordered these small coconut flakes for a number of years. When I have run out I have tried other brands and from the bulk bin at the local natural foods store. No other brand matches the flavor and texture quality of these flakes, and that combined with how carefully and minimally they are processed to preserve as much of the original plant product as possible is why I continue to buy despite that these are about the most expensive. Price in indicative of quality in this case. We eat this coconut daily in our ground flax and chia seed combo or in our our yogurt, and sometimes out of hand with a piece of dark chocolate, thus flavor and texture are most notable. They also work well in an array of baked goods and pudding.
