Homemade Pesto Sauce {Paleo, Vegan, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free}
Do you ever find that when life gets busy you don’t have time for cooking? Me too. My solution is more efficient meal prep like using this homemade pesto sauce in different ways throughout the week! This pesto sauce is paleo, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free and helps keep meal time delicious and simple.
Homemade Pesto Sauce Recipe
This homemade pesto sauce is so easy to make that you’ll want to use it for meal prep all the time! All you need is a few simple ingredients and a food processor.
This pesto recipe uses both basil and spinach for its leafy green base. I love to add in spinach to my pesto because it adds in more nutrients and is more cost effective than pesto made purely with basil. Instead of pine nuts which is typical in pesto, change up your nuts by using Wildly Organic Walnuts! They’re a mild nut so they don’t impart a lot of flavor in the pesto, similar to pine nuts. Plus, I always tend to have them on hand because they’re great in other dishes like this Berry Walnut Salad! Wildly Organic MCT oil and Wildly Organic Olive Oil provide the fats for the homemade pesto, both of which give a lovely flavor to this spinach basil pesto. If you’ve never used MCT oil before, you can read all about What is MCT Oil and How to Use It.
My family loves this easy pesto recipe so we always make sure to have a cup in our refrigerator to add to quick meals throughout the week. It can be used as a sauce on pizza, over pasta, or slathered on a tortilla for a wrap. Top it over a piece of grilled chicken or a mild fish for an easy dinner. There are so many flavorful possibilities!
