Paleo Italian-Marinated Steak & Mushrooms
Are you a steak purist?
Do you cringe at the thought of dumping steak sauce all over a perfectly grilled grass-fed steak?
This marinated steak and mushrooms recipe is so flavorful no one will even think of reaching for the steak sauce!
A thick, juicy steak, still sizzling from the grill, is the perfect summer meal.
My husband thinks it’s almost blasphemous to put sauce on a good steak. In my younger and woefully naive years, I used to love a certain famous brand of steak sauce. Living with a master barbecue chef means I no longer commit such grievous steak sins. He has shown me the error of my ways!

So how can you get a flavorful, juicy steak without dousing it in the sauce?
Marinate!
Marinating is the perfect way to infuse flavors and moisture into your beautiful cut of grass-fed beef steak. A vinegar-based marinade will also help tenderize your meat.
Throw in some whole baby bella mushrooms (or your favorite mushroom) and you’ll have flavorful grilled Italian-marinated steak and mushrooms that will satisfy any hearty appetite.
My husband, the grill master, is also my taste-tester when developing recipes. He is hard to please, so if he says anything more than “it’s good”, I really get excited.
His reaction to this recipe about bowled me over. He took one bite, and with big eyes, he said, “You can marinate steak like this any time you want!”
Nailed it.
Marinate all the things.
Don’t limit yourself to beef steaks!
Juicy chicken breasts, crispy-skinned duck, even venison will all be enhanced by a soak in this easy marinade.
Try adding other veggies too, such as onions, peppers, asparagus, or even brussels sprouts. You might want to cook some vegetables in a skillet rather than the grill, but they will still be amazingly delicious.
