Hide description
Wildly Organic Brazil nuts are only harvested once each year in late fall. Because of this, we do everything possible to ensure these nuts maintain their "just picked" quality all year long. We store all of our nuts in vapor-barrier pouches and test the moisture level before packaging. They are activated through a low-temperature soaking and dehydrating process which unlocks their full nutrition potential. Brazil nuts are filled with micronutrients and have over 767% of the recommended daily value for Selenium per serving!

What are the Benefits of Soaking and Dehydrating Nuts?

Sally Fallon and the Weston A. Price Foundation suggests that nuts be soaked and then dehydrated at low temperatures—here’s why:

Phytic acid occurs naturally in nuts, and it protects them until they’re ready for germination. Unfortunately, phytic acid binds to certain minerals and transforms into a phytate, which inhibits your body’s ability to absorb some of the nut’s nutrients.

After several cycles of soaking and rinsing and allowing the nuts a little bit of air, germination will occur. This starts to break down the enzyme inhibitors as the nuts release their protective shield and unlock stored nutrients to prepare for growth. This process creates what some refer to as "activated nuts."

Once the soaking process is complete, we dehydrate the nuts slowly at a very low temperature to extend the shelf life and give them a delicate crunch. The low-heat method will preserve the nutrients and ensure that the pecans remain entirely raw.

Great Brazil nuts

I buy these Brazil nuts mainly to make sure I am getting enough Selenium in my diet. These nuts taste great and have a nice slightly crisp consistency. I eat just 2-3 a day and enjoy their subtle flavor.

My favorite source for nuts.

Every nut I get, whether its walnuts, pecans, almonds, or Brazil, they are are always the freshest, best-tasting nuts I've every had....with the extra benefit of having been soaked. It is the only place I will buy nuts. Great stuff and good for you guys doing such a great job.
