Soaked & Dehydrated Organic Pecans (Native)

Native pecans from Wildly Organic do not grow in rows on a pecan farm. Instead, these American native heirloom pecans have existed for generations in the wild. Native pecans are smaller than the other variety we carry—Texas pecans. These pecans are both tender and naturally buttery. We activate the pecans through a low-temperature soaking and dehydrating process which unlocks their full nutritional potential and enhances their delicate texture, making them a delicious healthy snack.

Scientific evidence suggests that eating 1.5 ounces per day of most nuts such as pecans as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart disease. Either way, we know you’ll find these pecans to be amazingly tasty!

What are the Benefits of Soaking and Dehydrating Nuts?

Sally Fallon and the Weston A. Price Foundation suggest that nuts be soaked and then dehydrated at low temperatures—here's why:

Phytic acid occurs naturally in nuts, and it protects them until they're ready for germination. Unfortunately, phytic acid binds to certain minerals and transforms into a phytate, which inhibits your body's ability to absorb all the nut's nutrients.

After several cycles of soaking and rinsing and allowing the nuts a little bit of air, germination will occur. This starts to break down the enzyme inhibitors as the nuts release their protective shield and unlock stored nutrients to prepare for growth. This process creates what some refer to as "activated nuts."

Once the soaking process is complete, we dehydrate the nuts slowly at a very low temperature to extend the shelf life and give them a delicate crunch. The low-heat method will preserve the nutrients and ensure that the pecans remain entirely raw.

wildly delicious

love the pecans; they taste fresh, even have a softness to them, and are lovely a addition to fruit, grain, or on their own

Taste Great!

I have loved my Organic Heirloom pecans from Wildly Organic. These pecans are smaller than other pecans which makes them great for snacking. I love the texture too, slightly crunchy with lots of flavor.

Organic Heirloom Pecans

These have a soft crunchy buttery taste, our favorite for munching on. I use them in cereal and yogurt all the time and sometimes my wife uses them in homemade ice cream. I believe Wildly Organic has the best organic pecans available. We've bought organic pecans from many vendors but these have been the most consistent in texture and flavor, we have never been disappointed.
