Made with only three ingredients the carrots are sweetened with coconut syrup instead of the classic butter and brown sugar combo. Coconut syrup is a buttery, caramel-like syrup similar to maple syrup. It makes a wonderful addition to oatmeal, ice cream, and yes, this candied carrots recipe!

Carrots are naturally sweet, so this side dish recipe helps cut back on processed sugars because you really don’t need to add much else.

 

When To Use This Candied Carrots Recipe

This recipe is best made fresh and it comes together in only fifteen minutes. Though it tastes best when given 3-5 minutes to sit and allow the carrots to absorb the syrup.

These candied carrots work as a side dish to:

    Ingredients
    Instructions
    1. Prep the carrots and place them into a large pan. Add 1-2 inches of water. Cover and heat over medium-high heat.
    2. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until carrots are mostly tender. Drain the remaining water from the carrots.
    3. Place the pan back over the heat and add the coconut syrup. Cook, tossing frequently until the syrup is mostly evaporated.
    4. Toss the carrots in sea salt and remove from heat. Serve.
