Mixed Berry Gummies {made with freeze-dried berry powder!}
Would you enjoy a delicious treat that satisfies your sweet tooth and strengthens your hair, skin, and nails at the same time?
What if I told you this snack also contains many antioxidants, phytochemicals, flavonoids, micronutrients, vitamins, minerals, and fiber and may promote gut healing?
Want all of these tasty benefits — without a lot of work? Look no further than healthy, homemade mixed berry gummies!
Many homemade gummy recipes use fresh berries, which are blended to a smooth consistency in the blender. Yet, we are able to eliminate this step (and speed up the process) by using freeze dried berry powder.
Freeze-dried mixed berry powder is extremely convenient! No need to worry about having fresh berries on hand or needing to prepare gummies before fresh berries turn bad. It also allows us to use a wider variety of berries.
Mixed Berry Gummies {made with freeze-dried berry powder!}
When creating this recipe, my main goal was two-fold: the gummies must be tasty enough for my kids to enjoy, yet simple enough to make them without a lot of hassle.
After numerous tries, I succeeded on both fronts. At least at my house!
These gummies are so quick and easy to prepare; hands-on time is only 6 to 7 minutes.
As I already mentioned, this recipe utilizes the convenience of berry powder. And, there’s no added sugar — just white grape juice!
Have you ever used freeze-dried berry powder to make gummies?
- 2tablespoons mixed berry powder
- 1 cup white grape juice
- 3-1/2 tablespoons sustainably sourced beef gelatin
-
Pour the juice and berry powder into a small saucepan.
-
Heat gently over medium heat until warm, but not boiling.
-
Add the gelatin, one tablespoon at a time, whisking quickly after each addition.
-
Once all the gelatin is incorporated, remove from heat and pour into silicone molds.
-
Freeze for 15 to 20 minutes, or until set. Gummies may also set in the refrigerator, but will take longer.
If using a silicone mold, place mold on a tray, such as a cookie sheet, before pouring the mixture into them. This makes transporting to the fridge or freezer much easier.
Feel free to tweak this recipe. Substitute the white grape juice for another juice or use any flavor of berry powder.
