Strawberry Sugar Scrub
Sugar scrubs are one of my favorite little pleasures.
I feel that my skin can breathe better after a nice buffing. Plus any moisturizer, like this lovely whipped body butter, absorbs so much easier too!
Strawberries are full of vitamin C, the nutrient that fights oxidation keeping skin nice and supple. Vitamin C also helps with collagen production (source), helping us to soften and even delay those unwanted wrinkles.
I love fresh strawberries, but they contain a lot of water, making it impossible to incorporate them into a scrub for fear of quick spoiling. That’s why freeze-dried strawberries are a perfect solution! We can make a scrub with beautiful, natural strawberry aroma and unlimited shelf life.
Strawberry sugar scrub is in a category of its own — a wonderful sensory experience, reminiscent of summer, shortcakes, and daiquiris. (Just what you need in the dead of winter, am I right?)
To top it off, it’s completely natural and void of synthetic ingredients. Living in a modern world, we experience enough encounters with toxic substances. Anytime I can make even a slight adjustment to using simple ingredients in my skin care and diet, I consider it my little personal victory.
