We are thrilled to announce that our Fermented Cacao Powder is Fairtrade Certified through Fairtrade America. Though premium nutrition is our mission, our team strives to make sure that Wildly Organic is doing our part to even out global trade inequalities by paying fair prices to the farmers who grow and harvest cacao for our products.

What is Fermented Cacao?

Cacao is the bean that chocolate is made from. In its raw state, cacao contains more antioxidant flavonoids than red wine, green tea, and blueberries. At Wildly Organic, our raw cacao powder cacao is high in fiber and a good source of iron and protein!

To help retain the “raw” features of the cacao bean, the temperature in our extraction process is never allowed to exceed 120° F, and usually remains around 104° F (other cocoa powders may be exposed to temperatures as high as 300° F!). A high-accuracy thermometer monitors the process. The remaining dry, “cake-like'' material is then cold-ground and fine-milled so that only the finest raw cacao powder particles remain for the finished product.

To ensure the safety and purity of our organic raw cacao powder, each batch of fermented cacao is lab-tested for antioxidant activity as exhibited by an ORAC score of 1086 μmol TE/g.

I love this cacao powder. I drink so much of it I have to buy the 2lb bag just so that I don’t have to keep purchasing every few weeks. The 2lb bag lasts me a few months. This is how I make my famous morning brown: I use about 2 tablespoons cacao, mix in some mushroom powder and coconut milk powder, use about half a cup boiling water, mix with a cheap milk frother from amazon to make sure it’s all dissolved, and then fill the rest of the mug with soy milk. Delicious! Something you could spend $9 on at a fancy hipster coffee bar.

By far better quality than the other cacao powders I have used. Tastes and feels great!
