French Toast {Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free}

French toast covered in strawberries, blueberries, and bananas on a white plate with Wildly Organic Coconut Syrup and Butter Alternative

This gluten-free, dairy-free French toast is super easy to make. It’s a delicious breakfast any day of the week. Traditional French toast is made from bread, eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and sugar. However, replacing some of these ingredients with healthy gluten-free and dairy-free alternatives makes an amazing (and healthy) French toast.

How to make the best Gluten-Free French Toast

This recipe replaces regular milk with a flavorful coconut milk powder from Wildly Organic. The coconut milk from Wildly Organic is powdered. To activate it and turn it into liquid coconut milk, you just need to add hot water. I love this, not just because it tastes amazing, but also because you can easily take it with you while you travel or camp. It also has a longer shelf-life once opened than canned or carton coconut milk. It works great for this French toast.

Instead of regular bread, I use gluten-free bread. You can find several options of gluten-free bread. Because of the consistency, it actually works better than regular bread! Once soaked in egg, gluten-free bread stays together really well, while white bread has a reputation of coming apart easily.

For this French Toast, instead of using sugar, I opted for coconut syrup from Wildly Organic. It turned out to be a great decision because, paired with a little bit of cinnamon, it turned the toast into a delectable mouth-watering French toast. My children loved it so much! Now they want me to make it every day.

Eggs are an important ingredient for French toast. We love to use eggs from free-range chickens.

Once dipped into the egg mixture, French Toast must be fried in a skillet. I like to use an iron skillet and Wildly Organic Butter Alternative. It has a great flavor and doesn’t contain any dairy, soy, canola, or additional chemicals. This butter alternative contains only two ingredients: coconut oil and red palm oil, which is certified by Palm Done Right and RSPO. What’s not to love?
