A pecan pie without corn syrup for the Thanksgiving table?

Yes, please!

Pie is one of the dishes that seem to complete a holiday meal in the most traditional and satisfying ways.

At my house, we do try to limit the number of overly sugary dishes. There’s also no room at all for processed ingredients. Even with these healthy eating guidelines, we want to finish our feast with pie.

Enter this naturally sweetened pecan pie.

Pie Without Corn Syrup? Use Vegetable Glycerin!

Corn syrup is an ingredient we should definitely avoid. So how do you make a pie without corn syrup??

Using vegetable glycerin instead, you can skip the corn syrup in your from-scratch pecan pie!

Wildly Organic vegetable glycerin is a clear, sweet liquid made from coconut. It is considered a low carb sweetener (source).

Vegetable glycerin gives this naturally sweetened pecan pie that classic gooey texture, reminiscent of Grandma’s pecan pie. The flavor is different than the corn syrup version, but it is no less delicious.

This is a dessert you can feel good about baking and serving.

An Easy Recipe For Busy Holiday Days

The pie crust is the most labor intensive part of this dish. Use any crust recipe for this pie. It doesn’t need to be fancy or special — make it easy. Feel free to make a gluten-free or paleo pie crust so this pie can suit anyone’s dietary requirements.

Decorate the top with some cut-out pieces of crust, if the urge strikes, but this pie does not need a top crust.

The filling comes together in 1 bowl in a matter of minutes. Then fill the crust and bake.

That’s it; I promise.

Bake it up a day or 2 ahead and keep covered in the fridge. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
