Naturally Sweetened Peppermint Patties
Is there anything more pleasant than dark chocolate and cool mint together?
It’s refreshing and indulgent at the same time, not to mention it’s one of the few candies you can eat that actually leave you with fresh breath! Ahhhhhh!
But have you ever read the ingredient list on commercially produced peppermint patties?
You’re in for a rude awakening…
Sugar, Corn Syrup, Semi-Sweet Chocolate (Chocolate, Sugar, Cocoa, Milk Fat, Cocoa Butter, Soy Lecithin, PGPR, Emulsifier, Vanillin, Artificial Flavor), Invert Sugar, Egg Whites, Oil of Peppermint, Milk.
PGPR? Artificial flavor? Invert sugar?
What in the world are those??
Definitely not something we want in our bodies or our kids’ bodies!
Naturally Sweetened Peppermint Patties
There is a better way.
Sure, it takes a bit more time and effort, but the payoff is huge — naturally sweetened peppermint patties with ingredients you actually recognize.
You still get that same dark chocolate + peppermint = heaven flavor, but you don’t have to deal with things like PGPR, emulsifiers, and vanillin.
We sweeten our peppermint patties with pure honey and a little bit of coconut syrup. And of course, the rest of our ingredients — from the fair trade cacao butter and cacao powder to the sustainably harvested coconut butter — make the store-bought version pale in comparison.
You can truly taste the quality of ingredients in every, single bite!
