3-Ingredient Instant Matcha Latte Mix {Sugar-Free, Vegan}

There’s nothing quite like a cup of coffee or tea in the morning for a quick pick-me-up before you start your day. Sometimes though I want to mix things up because my taste buds are tired of coffee and herbal tea. This 3-ingredient instant matcha latte max is the perfect solution for those days!
This instant matcha latte mix is naturally gluten-free, vegan and sugar-free. All you have to do is mix it up with your favorite milk alternative and you can have a warm matcha latte in a matter of minutes. It doesn’t get much easier in the morning than this!
3-Ingredient Instant Matcha Latte Mix
When I think about instant foods I imagine microwave dinners and sugary, processed drink powders. In the real food world, instant food isn’t usually do-able. However, real food can be fast and easy!
Technically this drink mix does take a few minutes of prep work, but then in mere seconds, you can have a creamy matcha latte. I like drinking this in the morning to give my brain a good start to the day, but it’s also great for an afternoon pick-me-up.
Matcha Powder
The first time I tried matcha powder I was less than impressed. Sure it helps fight cancer, controls blood sugar, boosts brainpower and supercharges metabolism … but who cares if it’s nasty bitter?! Matcha is a potent version of green tea that tastes bitter on its own but with the right added ingredients becomes a sweet, creamy treat.
Cheaper, less reputable brands of matcha powder not only don’t taste as good, but they also don’t have as many antioxidants. Choose organic matcha that’s a vibrant green, not dull or brownish.
Coconut Milk Powder
I usually make my matcha lattes with canned coconut milk because it’s thicker and creamier than the version in a carton (with fewer additives too!). However, I’d end up with half a can of coconut milk in the back of the fridge that I didn’t know what to do with. A few weeks later I’d discover the poor thing’s remains when I went to clean out the fridge.
Wildly Organic Coconut Milk Powder, on the other hand, is shelf-stable (hallelujah!) and just as creamy. By keeping everything in powder form before mixing it with liquid, the cell-protecting antioxidants and healthy fats stay fresh and potent.
I’ve used coconut milk powder before and I was less than impressed. Here’s a secret. Many brands, especially the really cheap ones, mix a whole lot of maltodextrin in their coconut milk powder. While a little maltodextrin keeps the powder smoother, too much impacts flavor. So not only is Wildly Organic’s Coconut Milk Powder shelf-stable, but it has a more intense flavor than many others (even some natural brands.)
Coco Monkey Sweetener
Those powdered coffee drinks I had at grandma’s table relied on processed sugar and artificial sweeteners. This matcha latte, however, uses a natural blend of sugar-free sweeteners to complement the bitter matcha and creamy coconut milk. Unlike honey or agave syrup, Wildly Organic Coco Monkey Sweetener is powdered, making it the perfect addition to a powdered drink mix.
Coco Monkey Sweetener is made of organic inulin and has a nice, clean sweetness with no artificial aftertaste. It’s low calorie and great for using in beverage recipes as it dissolves so easily!
