Growing up, Fettuccine Alfredo was a weekly staple in our home. Whenever I see that dish on a menu it brings back such nostalgic memories. However, now being an Integrative Nutritionist, it’s not the dish I tend to order off the menu when I’m out.
A healthy twist on a family favorite
Traditional Alfredo sauce is made with inflammatory ingredients such as dairy or gluten, two items I try to stay away from. That’s why I created this healthy recipe! I wanted to maintain that same delicious and nostalgic dish without that heavy feeling we often get after eating a big plate of gluten-based pasta covered in a dairy-filled sauce.

- 2tablespoons nutritional yeast
- 1teaspoon Wildly Organic Onion Flakes

- 1/2cup + 1 tablespoon warm water

Add all ingredients to a high powered blender while starting to blend at a low speed and slowly increasing to a high speed until smooth. Feel free to add more water if you like a thinner consistency of sauce. Serve on top of warm pasta.
Note: If making sauce ahead of time you can heat the sauce in a pan on low. Any higher will burn the nut butter. You may need more water as you do this.
