What better way to curb a chocolate craving than with an indulgent but healthy chocolate smoothie! This vegan chocolate smoothie is whole food based, delicious and the perfect treat on a hot weekend.

Smoothies are a staple in my house. They’re easy to whip up and a great way to take in a ton of nutrients at once.

And this healthy chocolate smoothie is no different.

It’s made from simple ingredients, healthy fats and topped with a decadent chocolate sauce that will make all chocolate lovers swoon.

If there was one superfood I would reply on over and over again, it’s cacao powder! Loaded with antioxidants, calcium, and iron, cacao powder is potent all on its own.

But also, it makes everything chocolate. And if there’s any way to win my heart its chocolate.

This loaded smoothie is chocolate based but it also contains a lot of nutrients. In addition to cacao powder, the smoothie also contains cherries, collagen, and flaxseed.

Cherries, while normally a summertime staple, actually contain the hormone melatonin. Which means they’re a great way to aid insomnia. Plus, chocolate and cherries give this smoothie a red velvet feel.

Flaxseeds are a wonderful healthy fat that’s high in omega-three fatty acids- something we don’t get enough of.

 

And finally, the collagen in this smoothie helps to both stabilize hunger and keep us fueled as well as provides our immune system with a boost.

And while this smoothie is definitely delicious, it’s really the chocolate topping that makes it.

Made from Wildly Organics Chocolate Sauce and Almond butter the chocolate topping is what gives this healthy smoothie an indulgent feel. It’s sweet but not too sweet and it gives the smoothie a little something extra.

This chocolate smoothie is a perfect choice for a warm spring day or if you just need to curb a chocolate craving!

For myself personally, this smoothie is a great way to get a bit more protein into my daughters along with a lot of nutrients and healthy-boosting ingredients.

It’s an easy one to whip up but drizzling the syrup gives it an indulgent feel.

Moms or kids, this chocolate smoothie is a hit!

    Instructions
    1. In a powerful blender add the smoothie ingredients. Blend until combined. You may need to use a tamper or pause to scrape down the sides. Meanwhile, whisk together the topping ingredients. Pour the smoothie into a glass and top with the chocolate. You can use a fork or pipe it from a Ziplock bag. Smoothie makes 1 large or 2 smalls. This chocolate smoothie helps satiate hunger, load up on healthy nutrients and curb cravings! Made from simple ingredients, this smoothie is like red velvet cake… but better!
