This beautifully rich and thick Red Velvet Smoothie can be a complete meal in itself. It is made with a combination of beautiful fresh red beets, fiber rich oats, and omega packed chia seeds. It’s beautiful crimson color is perfect for a Valentine’s Day breakfast or dessert.
This healthy chocolate smoothie recipe is quick, nutritious, and wholesome at the same time. Make it even more fun by involving your kids to garnish the rim of the glass with chocolate or toss in some berries for a finished touch.
Ingredients for Red Velvet Smoothie
Gluten-free oats – Rich in fiber and protein. Making a complete breakfast in just one glass.
Beets – Rich in iron and fiber. Plus, it brings the perfect red color to this smoothie naturally without any food color.
Wildly Organic Coconut Milk Powder – My favorite dairy substitute that comes in powder form. This way it’s easy to store and has a longer shelf life. Also, since it is in a powder form you either add water to it or add dairy free milk to it to get an even richer taste.
Wildly Organic Chia Seeds – A great source of omega fats, protein, and fiber.
Wildly Organic Cacao Powder – I used the non-fermented version, but you can use fermented cacao powder as well. Enjoy it as hot cocoa or blend it into a smoothie, like this one!
Bananas – You can use frozen or fresh, both work well in this recipe, but frozen is better. I used semi-ripe bananas, but you can use over ripe bananas. You may want to lower the quantity of dates as over ripe bananas can be very sweet.
Dates – I added dates to this recipe for extra fiber and sweetness. Dates are rich in nutrients and are a natural sweetener making this smoothie even healthier.
Hemp Seeds – High in protein and fiber. Even though its optional, it definitely adds more fiber and protein to bulk up the recipe.
Simply blend the smoothie and enjoy this delicious and refreshing beverage with your loved ones.
