Paleo Pumpkin Spice Candied Almonds Recipe

I’m a big fan of recipes that require placing everything in a pot and stirring. This pumpkin spice candied almonds recipe is one of them. If you’ve never candied nuts before, it’s quite simple. All you do is add your sugars and spices to a pot and heat until melted. Add in your nuts and stir for 3-5 minutes until the nuts are coated in the sugar mixture and all moisture is evaporated. Then, pour it out onto a baking sheet and let it set for at least 30 minutes. Does it get any easier?

I’ve made candied nuts for as long as I can remember, but it was about time I made a pumpkin spice variety! You can use store-bought pumpkin pie spice, but I think it’s just as easy (and cheaper!) to make it yourself at home. All you need is cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg. The result is the most amazing smelling aroma ever! You’ll want to make these almonds all the time to keep your kitchen smelling this delightful!

If you aren’t a fan of pumpkin spice, feel free to substitute by using all cinnamon. You’ll still end up with a great snack! Sweet and crunchy, these pumpkin spice candied almonds are seriously addictive! Using Wildly Organic coconut sugar and pure maple syrup, we’ve created refined sugar-free candied almonds that are as sweet as the kind with granulated sugar!

Candied almonds are a great recipe to make for the holidays and serve for entertaining. Place them on a cheese plate, dessert platter, or just in a bowl by themselves. They also double as a delicious topper for your favorite salad recipe. Plus, they make a great holiday gift – just place in a jar and package with a bow!

Tips for Making Paleo Pumpkin Spice Candied Almonds

  • This is such a versatile recipe. We used almonds, but Wildly Organic pecans or cashews, too!
  • Keep stirring until all the moisture evaporates, at least 3 minutes. You want to make sure the sugar is able to reach a high enough temperature to reach the “brittle” stage. If it doesn’t, your almonds will end up sticky and not have a hard shell.
  • Make sure the almonds don’t burn. Turn the stove to medium-low heat and continuously stir the almonds to prevent burning.
  • You can store the candied almonds in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 weeks.
